Insurance
There are different types of insurance associated with buying property, some of which a mortgage lender will insist you have in place.
We have detailed these below:
Buildings/Contents Insurance
There are two elements to home insurance- Buildings, (usually only needed by Freeholders), and Contents.
Buildings insurance is an insurance policy that covers the financial cost of repairing damage to the physical structure of a property in the event of damage or theft. Examples include a fire, storm, subsidence and burglary.
An easy way to work out what’s covered is to imagine you can turn your home upside down; everything that stays put is covered by buildings insurance, if it falls, it is covered by contents insurance.
There are lots of things to consider with buildings and contents insurance- do you want accidental damage cover? Do you want legal cover? Do you have additional high-value items that need to be listed on the policy?
We can assist you with providing a buildings & contents cover that is suitable for your needs.
